Emergent Reader for We're Going on Bear Hunt

Print the emergent reader. Cut the pages
apart. Have the children
color the
pages. Give them a piece of 6.5 x 2" green construction paper.
Have them
fringe the edge and glue it to page one. On page two have the
children use
water colors to paint the river. On page three have them dot
their fingers in
brown paint and "muddy" the page. On page five, have the children
use a
hole punch and punch holes from white construction paper. Have
them glue
them to the page. Have them cut out the cave. Have them
put glue on the
dotted lined rectangle and glue the cave into place. Assemble
when dry.
Practice reading!!
This emergent reader can be printed two different ways. You
can print it
so that you get
two pages of a page on one page or you can print it so
that there
are two different
pages on each page.
