Magnet Pages for Name Recognition
These pages are designed to help children
identify the first letter of their names. Using your class
list, determine that pages you will need to print. For example
if your child's name is Sara, print the "S" page.
Then, write
Sara's name in the space and glue a picture of Sara in the
space provided. Now, have your children use the pages as you
would with any magnet page.
Children will love an activity with their photos on them.
To
use a magnet page, purchase circular Expo Brand
whiteboard magnets. They have been at Sam's Club,
sometimes packaged with push pins, or on EBay
(ebay is your best source-search for expo whiteboard magnets).
Have the children put the paper on a cookie sheet.
Bakers Secret brand of cookie sheet that is
9x13 works best. Have the children complete the picture
by putting a magnet in each circle. Some
people use pompoms or bingo markers with them.
This activity is designed to promote one to one
correspondence and letter recognition.
If you have older kids, these magnets can also be
used with the
Magnet Mosaics.
