This activity is designed to give children practice following directions and they end up
with a neat art project once they are finished.

One 6x11 piece of black-wings
ave the children round the corners and cut in half length wise
One 7x7 piece of black-head
Have the children round the corners
One 8x11 piece of white-stomach
ave the children round the corners
One 5x4 piece of orange-feet Have the children cut diagonally across the rectangle
One 2 ½ x2 ½ piece of orange-beak

Have the children round the corners and cut in half…throw away one half

Two 1 ¾ x 1 ¼ piece of white –eyes
Have the children round the edges
Two 1 ¼ x1 ¼ piece of blue-eyes
Have the children round the corners

Assemble as shown in the photo.  You can give the children the option of using scraps to
make a bow tie.  These would look cute as a bulletin board.  You could put the saying
March of the Penguins or use it as a manners activity and say We wait quietly in line.
"Welcome to our Rookery" would also be a cute bulletin board saying.
